Window blind cords can be dangerous. We always recommend using a cleat for any cords which is well out fo the childs reach to keep cords neat & safe.

I've seen solar powered window blinds that don't have any messy chords the kids could get tangled in. This is quite an interesting and practical idea. These blinds, unlike the regular wood blinds, shade you during the day while accumulating solar energy and light up during the night. They give the room a special lighting effect.

Good evening,
Following the death of a toddler in Carrigtwohill, Co Cork in Feb 2009 I set up a website dealing with the subject of window blind safety. The site is dedicated to the toddler, Arran Malley.
I own a window blind company in Cork and have 25 years experience in the industry, but undertook this project in a personal capacity with Arran's father. The aim of the site is to educate and inform the public on child safety in window blinds. It's self explanatory, with plenty of photos and simple language. There are no products offered for sale on the site.
