HEY GUYS & GALS.. I STUMBLED UPON THIS WEBSITE BY ACCIDENT. i AM SO GLAD THAT I FOUND IT... I AM SO PLEASED THAT THE CORPS IS ALIVE AND WELL!!! DON'T LET THE SPIRIT & THE GLORY OF THE CORPS EVER DIE. HOW MANY OF YOU KNOW THAT BILL COSBY WAS A NAVY CORPSMAN? HAVE YOU HEARD HIS RECORDING OF "CORPSMAN"? I WENT THROUGH HOSPITAL CORPS SCHOOL IN 1960.. WAS A WARD CORPSMAN, AN X-RAY TECH & BIO-MED REPAIRMAN.. ADVANCED TO HMCS, WAS COMMISIONED AS AN ENS IN THE MSC @ AND RETIRED AS A CAPTAIN..ONE THE BEST ASSIGNMENTS I HAD WAS AS CO HOSPITAL CORPS SCHOOL GRT LKS 1986-1989. I COULD TELL YOU SOME SEA STORIES...BUT ITS YOURS NOW..KEEP IT ALIVE.. I WAS SO HONORED TO BE CALLED "DOC". THANK YOU.... WENDELL L. CHAPPELL, CAPT MSC USN RET.

Bill Cosby was definitly a Navy Corpsman. One of my instructors went to corps school with him. I did one of my live rotations at Balboa Naval Hospital on the ward Bill had been assigned to. It was the cardiac ward. I often wondered if he told all those jokes to those guys. I served as a corpsman 1966-1970. Stationed at Naval Hospital, Pensacola and USS Yellowstone AD-27 after completing pharmacy tech school. Proud to have ben a DOC. Ross Nutt

Being a corpsman was one of the best life choices I ever made. Served as a HM2 on the USS Independence CVA-62 for 4 years. After retirement from civilian life I couldn't shake the need to be involved in emergency work so I entered EMT-Paramedic School; a two year ordeal that I wouldn't wish on anyone; especially at 70! But it's over and I am now back doing trauma work.

This issue was the first I've seen and I consider myself fortunate. The more I read here on Corpsman.com the more I like it. Reading this issue was like the mothership calling me :) I agreed with or felt the same as much of what I read. Good people, good website, I hope this site goes on for all to experience, enjoy and by chance learn from. Kudos to all involved.
